BSA TROOP 79 USAFA
Colorado Springs Boy Scouts
Dear Scouts and Scouting Families
For 106 years, Boy Scouts of America has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. BSA believes that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society. The Leadership of Troop 79, our Committee members, and our boys know you have many opportunities in Colorado Springs to choose a Troop. We believe our Troop offers a unique experience—one that will meet all your expectations as a member of the Boy Scouts of America.

Location
We are located on the North side of Colorado Springs on the US Air Force Academy grounds. We meet in a historic hunting lodge dedicated to scouting activities.
***Do not let our location deter you; all residents of the Colorado Springs area are welcome to this facility. Those wishing to visit the Troop, should contact the Scoutmaster or Committee Chair for instructions. We meet in the interior part of the Base where a Department of Defense identification card, visitor pass, or escort is needed.

Sponsor
American Legion Post 209 sponsors Troop 79 as the Charter Organization. We thank them for their support of our BSA activities.

Adult Oversight and Management
We expect and need a commitment from parents. As a small Troop, the involvement and mentoring from parents is integral to our experience. Whether as a BSA trained and certified leader, a committee member or involved support parent, the Troop cannot run without your contributions.
